Recently the newest "Death Stranding" trailer released and I have to say it really made me think of recent video game trends. A lot of the games that release tend to follow the battle royal mode, adding to it and improving on the overall concept.While its good to see, over time it will eventually get grating. Recent triple a titles such as Anthem fail to differentiate from the looter shooter genre, while also failing to really stand out. With Anthem there were signs of the possibility of uniqueness but EA's involvement looked to diminish that. Other genres such as assassins creed and Call of Duty look to be changing their style with assassins creed odyssey and call of duty redoing there modern warfare genre . Its always good to see innovation but overall these games are generally the same. Death stranding I feel is a good example of how you can do anything with the video game genre . Where as the majority tend to stick with pumping out the same game with little changes. Hopefully Death Stranding itself will succeed and inspire others to follow suite in creative thinking.
